VICINATO Farmhouse
‘Vicinato’ is situated in the village of Molazzana and it is an 18th century Tuscan stone farmhouse with wonderful views of the mountains. Its covered terrace is the perfect spot to sip wine and admire the landscape with olive and fruit trees, through which you are welcome to wander.
The village of Molazzana has an all purpose shop, church, square, two bars and a restaurant within walking distance and there is a large public swimming pool in the village of Gallicano at the bottom of the picturesque mountain road (4km). The villages and towns of the area are charming. You need a car to travel the local area, but if you prefer there is a train station 4 km away with excellent connection to all major towns. Then you may visit Barga (15 minutes) with its museum, wanderful allyways, markets, shops and swimmingpool with amazing views; wonderful Lucca (40 minutes), or Pisa (1 hour), Florence (1 ½ hours), the small towns of Northern Tuscany with their Mediaeval architecture.
The fabulous beaches of Versilia - Forte de Marmi and Viareggio - are just over an hour away.
The whole house is 270 sqm and is on 3 levels. The main entrance is on the ground floor where on your left you can find a medium size kitchen (that can be easily enlarged by knocking down a thin temporary brick wall); a leaving room with an open fireplace and a studio room next to it with original terracotta floos and wooden beams ceilings; a bathroom with a hip bath and a shower attachment.
On the first floor you will find 2 large double bedrooms, 1 medium double bedroom and a small double bedroom. All rooms have original features like chestnut beams, terracotta and wooden floors and they all offer stunning views.
The basement has been restored very recently maintaining all its original features, all walls are left with their original stones. It has brand-new chestant wood windows and doors. It has its own entrance and a magnificent view of the valley. This basement floor comprises of 3 fairly large rooms, one bathroom with shower and a smaller room with a large marble sink. Each floor is about 90 square meters wide.
